About the work
Engineering here is evolving fast. This person will own problems end to end, ship a high volume of quality code, dig into data, make product decisions, and iterate quickly in production.
The core stack is Node (TypeScript) on AWS and React (Next.js) on Vercel.
Responsibilities
- Own backend systems and infrastructure end to end, from design through deployment and scaling
- Build performant, reliable APIs and services that power the company's financial products
- Design and implement scalable architectures on AWS using Node (TypeScript)
- Make pragmatic tradeoffs between speed, reliability, scalability, and maintainability
- Ship production code frequently while holding a high quality bar
- Help establish technical patterns and best practices for the engineering team
- Work effectively with product engineers and other stakeholders

Relevant experience
- 5+ years, or equivalent depth, in professional software engineering, with a significant backend focus
- Experience building and scaling production systems with Node and AWS
- Proficiency with TypeScript (bonus)
- A track record of delivering reliable, performant systems at scale
