Chief of Staff to the CEO – Growth Stage SaaS

The Company

A high-growth, venture-backed B2B SaaS company headquartered in NYC is scaling rapidly and entering a new phase of expansion. With a product that has achieved strong product-market fit and a growing enterprise customer base, we are seeking a strategic Chief of Staff to help drive the company's next stage of growth. We are backed by leading VC firms and value execution, transparency, and relentless prioritization.

The Role

This is a high-visibility leadership role responsible for the operational success of the VP, General Manager’s organization. Acting as a strategic partner, you will ensure the business operates at peak velocity by driving key initiatives, improving organizational effectiveness, and aligning teams around strategic priorities. This role is designed for a seasoned operator who excels at driving accountability among senior leaders and building the systems necessary to scale a SaaS business.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Drive the Operating Cadence: Design and manage the GM’s leadership meetings, QBRs, and planning cycles to ensure the team is aligned and hitting KPIs. You will own quarterly planning, OKRs, and leadership reviews.
  2. Force Execution: Partner with Product, Sales, CS, and Engineering leaders to unblock projects and hold senior stakeholders accountable for deliverables. You will drive company-wide priorities, build operating rigor, and ensure execution across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Finance.
  3. Prioritize Ruthlessly: Act as a surrogate for the GM in high-level meetings, surfacing critical risks early and filtering out noise to focus the organization on top priorities.
  4. Build Systems & Visibility: Develop dashboards and reporting structures that provide real-time clarity on business health and cross-functional performance. Continuously identify opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness and execution.
  5. Lead Special Projects: Own high-impact, ambiguous initiatives that don’t have a natural home (e.g., market expansion research, internal restructuring, or post-launch retrospectives).
  6. Facilitate High-Stakes Decisions: Prepare briefing materials, research, and frameworks that enable the GM to make fast, informed decisions. Conduct deep-dive analyses on strategic questions, providing leadership with the insights needed to make high-stakes decisions.

Qualifications

  1. 5+ years of experience in high-growth SaaS operator roles (e.g., Biz Ops, Product Ops, RevOps, or a prior CoS/Founder role) OR deep domain expertise in SaaS business models and operations gained from consulting and private/growth equity backgrounds.
  2. Executive presence: The confidence to challenge senior leaders and the diplomacy to drive consensus across competing departments.
  3. Proven ability to translate high-level goals into clear execution plans and build the structure, processes, and documentation needed to bring clarity from chaos.
  4. Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree is a strong plus.
  5. Located in or willing to commute to NYC (hybrid, 3 days in-office per week).

Compensation & Benefits

  1. Competitive base salary range: $160,000 – $200,000
  2. Meaningful equity package (0.05–0.25% range)
  3. Comprehensive health, dental, and vision plans
  4. Flexible PTO and hybrid work environment
