This company is building the modern financial data platform for accounting and finance, weaving together data, workflows, and AI-first solutions so accounting teams can reach verifiable, granular financial data faster and make decisions with more confidence. The approach was not to add another layer of duct tape but to rethink the discipline — its primitives, its assumptions, its practices — while staying anchored to how customers actually work.

Product-market fit is strong, with a growing base of customers who genuinely like the product, including several of the most recognizable names in AI, fintech, and developer tools. Investors include top-tier venture firms alongside founders and executives from category-defining companies.

The role

This is the company's first dedicated Engineering Manager, leading engineering teams in New York. The person in this seat manages and grows a team of engineers while staying close enough to the code and the system design to hold the trust of the people they lead.

This is not a role for someone who manages from a distance. The company is looking for an engineer who has done the work, still wants to be in the details when it counts, and draws energy from making other engineers better.

What this person might lead

1. Data platform. The ingestion, transformation, and lineage infrastructure that gives accountants traceable, source-connected access to their financial data at any level of detail.
2. Reporting engine. The experience for flexibly defining, composing, and drilling into structured financial reports — from top-level projections down to a single transaction.
3. Accounting automation. The core engine that imposes structure on messy financial data, automating large swaths of manual work and turning accountants into engineers.
4. Workflow, AI, and user experience. Complex, cyclical accounting workflows with dependency management, automation, and AI-native experiences, wrapped in a product the team takes pride in making a pleasure to use.

Requirements

1. 6+ years building software, including meaningful time as a hands-on engineer
2. 2+ years directly managing engineers, with real ownership of hiring, performance, and team output
3. High motivation and agency

Bonus points

1. Managing teams in complex, technical domains
2. Fintech or accounting-adjacent experience
3. Founding a business, building products from zero, or joining as an early engineering hire and growing into management
4. A demonstrated track record in hiring
