Position Summary
The company is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead its Infrastructure and Platform teams. This leader will be responsible for providing the secure, scalable, and intuitive foundations that enable the entire engineering organization to ship reliable, high-quality products quickly and confidently. This is a critical leadership role that directly impacts the company's ability to scale and execute its product vision.
Key Responsibilities
The Engineering Manager will be accountable for the following outcomes:
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 5-6 skilled engineers across Infrastructure and Platform, fostering a culture of ownership, learning, and technical excellence.
- Strategic Roadmap: Define and drive the long-term strategy and roadmap for infrastructure reliability, scalability, developer productivity, and core platform services.
- Architectural Guidance: Guide the evolution of the company's architecture toward modular, service-oriented systems, ensuring sustainable and scalable growth.
- Platform Delivery: Oversee the delivery of key shared services—such as authentication, audit logging, and observability—that are adopted as standard across all product teams.
- Developer Velocity: Implement foundational improvements to the developer experience, including tooling and ephemeral environments, that result in measurable gains in team velocity and satisfaction.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a strategic leader who is equally passionate about people management and technical architecture. They are driven by the mission to create leverage for other engineers and are adept at navigating ambiguity to deliver high-impact outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of engineering management experience directly leading infrastructure or platform teams.
- 6+ years of hands-on, individual contributor experience in infrastructure, platform, or backend engineering.
- A strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure), observability tools, CI/CD pipelines, and modern Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
- Proven experience in building or scaling shared platform services, such as authentication systems, internal service frameworks, or API gateways.
- Familiarity with architecting systems to meet enterprise-grade requirements for security, governance, and compliance.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop a clear vision, articulate technical strategy to diverse audiences, and make pragmatic trade-offs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the cryptocurrency, fintech, or other highly regulated financial systems.
- A track record of scaling platform systems to support a rapidly growing user base and data volume.
Compensation and Benefits
The company offers a competitive starting salary of $264,000 - $297,000 USD. The actual compensation will be based on relevant skills, education, and experience.
