The Opportunity

As our Founding Product Design Lead, you'll define the design vision for our platform—shaping experiences that impact:

1. Students navigating life-changing career transitions
2. Instructors & Coaches delivering personalized support
3. Healthcare Partners hiring qualified talent

This is a player-coach role for a design leader who thrives in zero-to-one environments. You'll craft pixel-perfect interfaces while establishing design practices that scale.

What You'll Own

1. End-to-End Design Leadership: From research → concepts → high-fidelity UI across web and mobile
2. Design System Foundations: Build and mature our system (components, patterns, documentation)
3. User-Centric Process: Conduct research, map jobs-to-be-done, and validate solutions with data
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Eng, and Ops to balance user needs with technical constraints
5. Quality Bar: Ensure every interaction reflects our brand's warmth and professionalism

You're The Ideal Candidate If You:

1. Have 5+ years in product design with a portfolio showcasing shipped B2C/B2B2C products
2. Think in systems: Can evolve a design system while addressing tactical needs
3. Bridge UX and UI: Equal parts interaction design, visual polish, and user advocacy
4. Lead with data: Leverage qualitative insights and quantitative metrics (A/B tests, engagement data)
5. Thrive in ambiguity: Navigate complex user journeys (students, instructors, partners)
6. Communicate brilliantly: Align stakeholders and inspire teams through storytelling

Bonus Points For:

1. Startup experience (especially EdTech, Healthcare, or workforce development)
2. Experience designing for both learners and educators
3. Background in service design or multi-sided platforms
4. Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG)
