Job Title: Frontend Engineer – AI-Native Applications

Role Type: Full-time

Location: In-office / Hybrid

About the Company

Every major business has an in-house legal team, and those lawyers are chronically overworked. Eighty-hour weeks, tight deadlines, and contract-reading death marches are industry norms. Until recently, technology could do little to help.

Large language models changed that. This organization built an AI-native platform to automate legal drudgery and give legal professionals their lives back. Customers love the software: despite intense competition, the platform holds the highest trial win rate in the market at 85%. The company launched early access in 2023, has since 6x’d annual recurring revenue, and counts Uber, Reddit, IBM, Canva, Pinterest, and WordPress among its clients.

The Role: Why, What, and Who

Why this role exists

The software delights users, and frontend engineers are the reason why. As the company builds real-time, collaborative, AI-enabled experiences, the frontend becomes the critical bridge between powerful LLM agents and the lawyers who depend on them. This role exists to make that interaction fast, intuitive, and delightful.

What the role owns

The company is seeking a Frontend Engineer to:

  1. Craft a real-time, collaborative AI-enabled interface where multiple users can work together seamlessly
  2. Write high-performance UI code that feels instantaneous, even when orchestrating complex agentic workflows
  3. Implement frontend components that integrate directly with LLM-powered agents, surfacing suggestions, edits, and insights without friction
  4. Collaborate daily with designers, legal subject matter experts, and other engineers to reimagine how lawyers work in the age of AI

Who they are looking for

The ideal candidate brings:

  1. Strong experience building modern, reactive web applications (React, Vue, Svelte, or similar)
  2. A track record of shipping performant, accessible, and maintainable frontend code
  3. Interest or experience integrating with real-time collaboration tools (WebSockets, CRDTs, or similar)
  4. Curiosity about LLMs and how they can be embedded into user interfaces (prior AI experience not required, but enthusiasm is)
  5. Ability to work closely with non-technical stakeholders – lawyers and designers – to translate complex workflows into clean UI patterns

Who Thrives Here

The company might be the right fit for someone who:

  1. Loves writing code but cares about impact more. The team is engineers at heart, but the number-one goal is building the best possible product – which means making pragmatic choices and finding 80/20 solutions.
  2. Would describe themselves as relentlessly resourceful.
  3. Has a strong internal sense of urgency and a bias toward doing things today rather than tomorrow.
  4. Has startup experience (preferred but not required).
  5. Is genuinely excited about the adventure of building a company.

To Apply

Qualified candidates should submit a resume and a brief note describing a frontend performance optimization they’re particularly proud of – and why it mattered to users.
