About Our Hiring Partner

Our hiring partner stands at the forefront of DeFi economics, providing institutional-grade risk management and optimization for the largest protocols and networks in the industry. They are the trusted partner for protocols facilitating the majority of spot trading, borrowing, and lending activity across DeFi, protecting and optimizing billions in customer value.

This pioneering company builds sophisticated, automated vaults that deliver risk-adjusted on-chain yields at scale. Their work is powered by cutting-edge quantitative research, advanced risk models, and off-chain intelligence, making them one of the most cited sources in peer-reviewed DeFi research. As a Series B company with a fully remote team, they operate with a trader's discipline and a risk manager's skepticism, dedicated to building predictable, reliable financial systems for the future.

Why This is a Pioneering Opportunity

  1. Work at the Frontier: Tackle complex, unsolved problems at the intersection of crypto, economics, and software engineering, contributing to the foundational infrastructure of DeFi.
  2. Massive Scale & Impact: Your work will directly influence and secure protocols managing tens of billions of dollars in value, with a tangible effect on the entire DeFi ecosystem.
  3. Deep Research & Practical Application: Contribute to world-class quantitative research and immediately apply it to build production-grade systems and products.
  4. Remote-First Excellence: Join a distributed team of top-tier talent, enjoying the flexibility of one of the most compelling remote startup jobs in the crypto space, backed by a strong, collaborative culture.

About the Role

We are seeking highly skilled Quantitative Software Engineers to join our partner's elite team. This role is designed for individuals who excel at blending deep statistical modeling with robust software engineering to solve the most challenging economic problems in DeFi.

The ideal candidate is a passionate problem-solver who can design and implement strategies for managing risk, optimizing protocol incentives, and enhancing the performance of automated vaults. You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, owning the full lifecycle of protocol integrations and contributing to a world-class modeling platform.

What You'll Do

  1. Design and implement sophisticated strategies for managing risk and optimizing DeFi protocols using quantitative models, simulations, and machine learning.
  2. Develop and maintain core tools and engines for parameter recommendations that drive direct impact across multiple protocols.
  3. Own the end-to-end lifecycle of protocol integrations, including building data pipelines and collaborating with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and product offerings.
  4. Architect and refine data models and structures to support the evolving needs of DeFi analytics, simulations, and research methodologies.
  5. Optimize autonomous vault logic to improve risk-adjusted yields, trade execution quality, and capital efficiency for strategies like Protocol-Owned Liquidity.
  6. Stay current with the latest industry trends, market risk vectors, and DeFi innovations to ensure strategies remain at the cutting edge.

Qualifications (Must-Have)

  1. A minimum of 4 years of direct, hands-on experience professionally trading or analyzing financial markets (crypto or traditional).
  2. Proven experience developing statistical or quantitative models for financial markets.
  3. Strong understanding of blockchain technology and DeFi protocols, concepts, and best practices (or a demonstrated intense desire to learn rapidly).
  4. High proficiency in Python and SQL, with a solid foundation in software engineering principles.
  5. Practical knowledge of workflow orchestration (e.g., Dagster, Airflow) and distributed data processing technologies (e.g., Spark).
  6. Excellent grasp of statistical modeling, machine learning, and optimization algorithms, with experience using scientific computing packages (Numpy/Scipy, Pandas).
  7. Exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to internalize abstract concepts in new domains quickly.
  8. Strong communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively in a distributed team environment.

Bonus Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)

  1. A Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or Physics.
  2. Direct experience contributing to open-source DeFi projects or protocols.

Compensation & Benefits

This role offers a comprehensive package designed for top-tier talent in a high-growth industry.

  1. Competitive Compensation: Attractive base salary with the added potential for incentive-based compensation.
  2. Full Remote Flexibility: Work from anywhere in the US or Canada.
  3. Top-Tier Health Coverage: 100% of medical, dental, and vision premiums paid for employees.
  4. Generous Stipends: $1,000 WFH stipend upon joining, plus monthly reimbursements for home internet, phone, and fitness expenses.
  5. Unlimited Vacation: Take the time you need to recharge, with a policy that encourages it.
  6. Family & Wellness Support: 100% paid parental leave and fertility benefits.
  7. Team Connection: Regular in-person company retreats and cross-country "office visits" to foster team bonds.
