Senior Software Engineer - AI Agents & Data Infrastructure

An early-stage company building AI infrastructure for Enterprise IT. Its platform equips enterprise teams with AI agents that operate from a living, continuously refreshed model of how their systems actually behave - turning discovery and documentation work that normally consumes weeks into a matter of hours, with no loss of rigor or oversight. The team is small, fast-moving, and assembling the group that will set the standard for how Enterprise IT runs in the AI era.

The role

This engineer will own the systems behind the company's AI agents and the data infrastructure those agents depend on. The ideal fit is a backend-leaning generalist - someone who makes practical calls under time pressure, ships working software, and would rather solve the problem than admire it. As one of the first engineering hires, this person will carry genuine weight in both technical direction and team culture.

Responsibilities

1. Build and maintain the agent tooling layer - the tools, actions, and APIs agents call to get work done
2. Design orchestration systems that run multi-step, multi-agent workflows dependably
3. Own the data ingestion pipelines that pull customer data into the platform cleanly and at volume
4. Wire in AI APIs and third-party services, choosing sensible off-the-shelf components over ground-up rebuilds
5. Carry projects end to end: design, build, deploy, and monitor in production

What the company is looking for

1. 5-7 years of professional software engineering experience
2. Production experience building on LLMs or AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar)
3. Familiarity with agent frameworks, tool-calling systems, or AI orchestration layers
4. Track record designing and running data ingestion or ETL pipelines
5. Deep backend fundamentals paired with full-stack range (React/TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL)
6. Startup background preferred; candidates from larger organizations are a strong fit if they've held real individual-contributor ownership and worked with high autonomy
