The Problem & Our Mission
Healthcare financial complexity is a national crisis, representing the primary cause of personal bankruptcy in the United States. Each year, more than 50 million individuals face devastating financial fallout—from damaged credit to wage garnishment—simply because they sought medical care. The shift towards high-deductible health plans is accelerating this challenge.
Our company exists to solve this. We apply data intelligence, intuitive product design, and deep personalization to dismantle financial barriers in healthcare. While the industry traditionally employs a generic approach to patient engagement, we are building a new standard: a compassionate, clear, and consumer-grade experience that empowers patients and transforms administrative burden into clarity..
The Role: Innovate at the Intersection of AI and Empathy
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our pivotal Support squad. This team is redefining how patients understand and resolve their healthcare financial obligations through cutting-edge technology. Your focus will be on pioneering the integration of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to build intelligent, empathetic systems that provide personalized guidance and support at scale.
This is more than a technical role; it’s an opportunity to shape the future of patient-provider communication. You will experiment, prototype, and ship features that leverage the latest AI advancements to solve real human problems during stressful moments.
A Glimpse Into Your Week
- Driving Innovation: Partner with AI scientists and product teams to experiment, develop, and launch groundbreaking GenAI-powered features directly into our patient-facing platform.
- Engineering Intelligent Systems: Design and build robust development and production workflows that effectively integrate LLMs. Your work will involve providing precise context and constraints, implementing modern agentic patterns, and establishing evaluation frameworks for continuous refinement.
- Advancing a Pioneering Agent: Enhance and scale our first-of-its-kind voice AI agent, a critical tool that delivers personalized billing guidance through natural, empathetic, and compassionate dialogue.
- Leading Through Expertise: Contribute to team direction and technical chartering, manage cross-functional projects, and provide mentorship that empowers peer engineers to lead their own initiatives.
- Elevating Our Craft: Proactively research and evaluate novel approaches in agent-based engineering and rapid prototyping to continually raise our technical bar and speed of innovation.
