Company Overview:

We are dedicated to simplifying how businesses compensate their teams. Our core technology provides the essential foundation that empowers our partners to develop, launch, and scale their own sophisticated payment operations. As the originators of a deeply integrated payment platform, we are not merely providing a tool—we are enabling a new ecosystem for financial technology, allowing our partners to thrive. We are the catalyst for innovation in business payments.

Our Team

The existing landscape of payment processing is fraught with complexity. We are a collective of dedicated problem-solvers committed to building a better solution. Here, your creative approach, analytical rigor, and determination will directly influence the success of countless businesses. We perceive every obstacle as a chance to contribute, and we prioritize collective impact over rigid job descriptions, valuing the distinct capabilities each person brings to our mission.

Join us if you are prepared to tackle foundational challenges and redefine the future of business payments. Together, we can streamline complexity, deliver meaningful value, and create a more equitable financial infrastructure for companies of all scales.

The Role

This position offers the opportunity to apply profound engineering skills to create tangible, real-world impact. Our architecture is cloud-native, managed through infrastructure-as-code, and centers on a Python-based modular monolith. This design harnesses the scalability and resilience of distributed systems while preserving the developmental coherence of a mono-repo. We leverage standard HTTP API conventions and robust, asynchronous execution frameworks to manage intricate background processes—from orchestrating financial transfers to ensuring regulatory adherence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drive cross-functional technical initiatives from initial concept to final implementation, frequently collaborating beyond core teams to integrate diverse perspectives and arrive at groundbreaking solutions.
  2. Develop functional prototypes to explore and validate novel approaches to complex challenges.
  3. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by openly sharing insightful perspectives and constructive critique.
  4. Elevate the team's technical standards through direct code contributions, meticulous reviews, and active participation in operational refinements.
  5. Streamline complex domains by identifying underlying patterns, cultivating deep subject matter expertise, and proactively re-evaluating existing assumptions.
  6. Refine and exercise technical judgment by making informed decisions, clearly articulating reasoning, and systematically evaluating alternatives.
  7. Strengthen team cohesion by fostering authentic relationships, operating with transparency, and embracing a culture of mutual trust.

Our Technical Environment:

  1. Backend Services: Python, Django
  2. Frontend Applications: React, TypeScript
  3. Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS, Terraform
  4. Data Management: Postgres
  5. Workflow Management: Temporal
  6. Platform & Tools: GitLab for CI/CD and project management

Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated experience leading significant, team-level technical projects with a relentless focus on delivered impact and managing stakeholder relationships.
  2. A background in architecting and developing complex, scalable systems, with experience in regulated fields being a significant advantage.
  3. A proven ability to make sound decisions quickly, informed by empirical evidence and past learnings.
  4. Exceptional competency in diagnosing and resolving issues within sophisticated, multi-layered systems.
  5. Strong proficiency in Python or Go; practical experience with Django, React, or TypeScript is highly desirable.

We value the flexibility of remote work while recognizing that in-person collaboration is uniquely effective for certain types of work. The total rewards package also includes stock options, flexible paid time off and sick leave, a generous policy of 16 fully paid weeks of parental leave for all new parents, a flexible return-to-work arrangement, 9 company holidays annually, a 401(k) plan, and a $100 monthly stipend to cover home internet and mobile phone costs.

The final base salary for this role is determined by the candidate's relevant experience, skill set, and geographic location. Our compensation strategy aims to place new hires near the midpoint of the range to maintain internal equity.
