About the Role

Our hiring partner knows that the most powerful features are worthless if the end-user struggles with the interface. They are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to help build out and improve their user-facing codebase as they scale and add new capabilities.

In this role, you will be a key contributor to the product engineering team, collaborating closely with designers, customer-facing teammates, and other engineers to deliver helpful features with solid technical foundations. You will be responsible for building high-quality web apps that are easy to maintain and extend, ensuring the product remains intuitive and powerful for its users.

What You'll Do

1. Build new user-facing features from the ground up, focusing on usability and a seamless customer experience.
2. Develop and extend the platform's automation framework, enhancing its power and auditability for customers.
3. Improve and augment the existing library of reusable components, contributing to and maintaining the internal style guide.
4. Proactively review existing components and features for usability, performance, and accessibility, advocating for and implementing improvements.
5. Collaborate cross-functionally to translate product vision into elegant, technically sound solutions.

Qualifications (Must-Have)

1. At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a significant focus on client-side web development.
2. An exceptional problem-solver with a track record of building high-quality, maintainable web applications.
3. Expertise in writing beautiful and usable interfaces with semantic HTML and clean, understandable CSS (or SCSS/Less/CSS-in-JS).
4. Familiarity with common server-side systems and patterns (ORMs, job systems, MVC frameworks, RESTful APIs).
5. Comfort working with and querying relational databases like PostgreSQL.
6. A collaborative spirit and excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with designers and non-technical teammates.

Bonus Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)

1. Extensive professional experience with the core tech stack: Node, TypeScript, React, and Redux.
2. A strong eye for design and user experience (UX) principles.
3. Experience working in a remote-first environment.
