About the Role

Engineering at this company is evolving quickly. As a Backend Engineer, you will own problems end-to-end, deliver a lot of high-quality code, dig into data, make product decisions, and iterate quickly in production. You will be expected to aggressively leverage AI-assisted development tools to dramatically accelerate your output and maximize impact, all while maintaining strong code quality and system reliability.

What You'll Do

1. Own backend systems and infrastructure end-to-end, from design through deployment and scaling.
2. Build performant, reliable APIs and services that power our financial products.
3. Design and implement scalable architectures on AWS using Node (TypeScript).
4. Make pragmatic tradeoffs between speed, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
5. Ship production code frequently while maintaining high quality standards.
6. Help establish technical patterns and best practices for the engineering team.
7. Interface effectively with product engineers and other stakeholders.

Relevant Experience

1. 5+ years or equivalent depth of experience in professional software engineering, with a significant backend focus.
2. Experience building and scaling production systems with Node.js and AWS.
3. Proficiency with TypeScript (bonus).
4. A track record of delivering reliable, performant systems at scale.
