The Role

As a senior individual contributor, the selected candidate will play a vital role in shaping the product as the company continues to build. The organization seeks a highly intelligent, humble, curious, and detail-oriented individual who loves solving problems through code. The ideal engineer is excited by a wide range of work involving technical challenges across the breadth of backend services and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

1. Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
2. Contribute to the system design of new product features.
3. Contribute to the architecture and design of the product.
4. Help cultivate a strong engineering culture and high-quality development and testing practices.
5. Define, implement, and evolve the technical architecture.
6. Drive key projects across development, quality, infrastructure, and data engineering.
7. Mentor more junior engineers.

Experience and Attributes

1. Minimum of 5–10 years of expertise writing code in Python, with code that reflects the Zen of Python.
2. Demonstrated success building distributed systems that are scalable, easy to understand, and maintainable.
3. Degree in computer science, mathematics, or a similar field from a reputable university.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
5. Low-ego, independent, accountable individuals who are curious, love to learn, and readily share their knowledge with others.
6. Bonus: Expertise in healthcare, fintech, or banking.
7. Bonus: Infrastructure experience with AWS or GCP.
8. Bonus: Expertise with Terraform and infrastructure as code (IaaC).
