The Role: Senior Software Engineer

The company is seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to play a foundational role in architecting the next generation of its Voice AI platform. This engineer will be instrumental in enhancing the capabilities, scalability, and reliability of the systems that allow global enterprises to create and deploy sophisticated AI phone agents. This is a high-impact role that offers the unique opportunity to shape a core technology that is changing an entire industry.

Key Responsibilities

1. Architect and Build Core Systems: Design, develop, and ship key components of the real-time voice AI platform, ensuring they are robust, maintainable, and perform under the demands of high-volume call traffic.
2. Lead Technical Integrations: Develop flexible and powerful API solutions that enable seamless integration with a wide array of customer systems, including CRMs, databases, and telephony infrastructure.
3. Optimize Machine Learning Pipelines: Collaborate directly with the AI/ML team to implement and refine the infrastructure that supports voice models, focusing on latency, reliability, and scalability.
4. Drive Engineering Excellence: Act as a force multiplier for the team by contributing to technical standards, leading code reviews, and championing engineering best practices.
5. Support Complex Deployments: Work closely with implementation teams to understand nuanced customer requirements and develop tailored technical solutions that solve critical business problems.
6. Solve Complex Technical Challenges: Tackle ambitious problems in real-time audio processing, natural language understanding, and distributed systems architecture.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a product-minded engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is motivated by building from the ground up.

Required Qualifications:

1. 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong full-stack or backend orientation.
2. A proven track record of designing, building, and scaling software systems from the earliest stages (0 to 1) through significant growth (1 to 100).
3. Direct experience working in a high-velocity, early-stage startup environment.
4. 2+ years of hands-on experience developing and deploying production-level AI applications.
5. Strong architectural skills and a passion for writing clean, efficient, and scalable code.

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points):

1. Experience with telephony systems, VoIP protocols (SIP), or WebRTC.
2. Background in Natural Language Processing (NLP), speech recognition, or conversational AI.
3. Proficiency with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
4. Demonstrated experience building and maintaining real-time, high-throughput distributed systems.
5. Prior work on AI/ML infrastructure or production machine learning systems.
