Our hiring partner, a premier portfolio of global lifestyle and fashion brands, is seeking an accomplished Staff Software Engineer to spearhead the development of AI-powered digital experiences across their ecosystem. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned full-stack engineer to join a mission-driven team integrating cutting-edge algorithmic solutions with creative tooling.

In this role, the individual will leverage their full-stack expertise to architect and implement middleware experiences, bridging the gap between advanced AI models and user-facing applications. This engineer will collaborate deeply with a talented, cross-functional group of UX designers, data scientists, product managers, and domain experts to deliver transformative business impact.

The ideal candidate is not just a coder but a technical leader who champions best practices in full-stack algorithm engineering. They are comfortable working at the intersection of distributed systems, AI infrastructure, and product development, ensuring that generative AI capabilities are seamlessly integrated into scalable, production-grade services that power the company's digital evolution.

Role Responsibilities

  1. Agentic Infrastructure: Design, build, and maintain server-side infrastructure for agentic tools, implementing MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers using frameworks such as FastMCP or equivalent technologies.
  2. Workflow Orchestration: Architect and develop sophisticated agentic workflows leveraging modern orchestration frameworks including ADK, A2A, LangGraph, or similar technologies.
  3. Microservices Development: Design and implement robust, scalable microservices utilizing FastAPI, GraphQL, or comparable API frameworks to support AI-driven applications.
  4. Collaborative Design: Engage closely with enterprise architects, developers, business partners, and end-users to produce functional designs that align technical capabilities with business needs.
  5. Cross-Functional Partnership: Work hand-in-hand with Product Designers, Product Managers, and fellow Software Engineers to deliver compelling, user-facing products that leverage AI capabilities.
  6. Exploratory Innovation: Conduct exploratory proof-of-concept studies to assess potential deployment architectures and evaluate emerging data engineering technologies, driving informed technical decisions.
  7. Platform Strategy: Propose, champion, and facilitate paved paths for algorithm integration and productization, laying the foundational infrastructure for feedback loops and data flywheels.
  8. ML Architecture Support: Collaborate with the team to implement and maintain the ML architecture, including the data pipelines and applications that enable efficient training and inference of ML models in production environments.
  9. Best Practices Advocacy: Champion engineering excellence, promoting best practices in full-stack algorithm engineering, including code quality, testing, and maintainability.
  10. Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong cross-functional partnerships, effectively communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Role Qualifications

  1. AI-Augmented Development: Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging AI-powered development tools—such as Cursor, VS Code Copilot, Claude Code, or Gemini—to accelerate code authoring, refactoring, and complex troubleshooting, while maintaining uncompromising standards for code quality and security.
  2. RESTful APIs & Distributed Systems: A strong background in designing and building scalable RESTful APIs and distributed systems. This includes hands-on experience with microservices architecture, consensus patterns, and ensuring high availability across distributed nodes.
  3. System Integration & AI Workflows: Proven ability to integrate complex workflows and AI/ML services into backend systems using modern orchestration frameworks and event-driven architectural patterns.
  4. Containerization & Cloud: Proficiency with Docker for containerization, coupled with extensive experience deploying applications to major public cloud platforms. Skilled in managing serverless workloads, container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and cloud-native services.
  5. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Hands-on experience defining and managing infrastructure using Terraform or similar tools to ensure reproducible, version-controlled, and auditable deployment environments.
  6. Database Management: Proficiency with relational databases for transactional workloads, including expertise in schema design, connection pooling, and performance tuning at scale.
  7. Quality & Automation: A dedicated commitment to modern engineering practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and automated code quality standards.
  8. Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, combined with a proven track record of delivering complex, production-grade software systems.
